Teacher-HS-Physical Education Email Phone: (920) 986-3351 ext. 752 Shiocton High School Physical Education Teacher Head Coach Shiocton Boys Basketball Chad Schmidt is a graduate of Whitehall High School in Whitehall, WI (‘92). He went on to pursue his education and basketball career at North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At North Central, Chad was a part of a team that won a district title. Chad transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he played baseball and graduated (‘98) with a B.S. in Kinesiology; Emphasis Teaching. While at Eau Claire, Chad was a volunteer assistant coach for the Eau Claire Memorial High School basketball team for three years. In 1996, he was a part of a WIAA division 1 state tournament team. Also, Chad coached middle school football in Eau Claire and Barron for two years and was head baseball coach for Blair-Taylor High School for two years. In 1997, Coach Schmidt led the Wildcats to two straight WIAA sectional final games and their first WIAA Baseball State tournament appearance in school history. In 1998, Coach Schmidt came to Shiocton to teach physical education and coach. Coach Schmidt has led the Shiocton Boys Basketball Program to CWC Conference Championships in 2002 and 2004. They were Regional Champions in 2002. The Chiefs were ranked 8th in the state in division 3 in 2006. Coach Schmidt earned his Masters Degree in Education at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (‘04). This is Coach Schmidt’s 13th year teaching and coaching at Shiocton. He and his wife Nancy have four boys: Nathan 13, Caden, 9, Dawson 7, and Bennett 5.
