For the 2012-2013 basketball season, this year’s Shiocton Boy’s Basketball Team was very successful:
-
CWC Conference Championship 13-1 Record
-
#1 Seeding in Half-Bracket Sectional
-
Regional Champions
-
Overall Season Record 21-4
-
Two Players Selected to CWC 1st Team All-Conference
-
Ended the regular season with an AP Poll top 10 Ranking
-
Appleton Post Crescent 5th Area Ranking
The team chemistry was great. The team was composed of four seniors, three juniors, and one freshman. The seniors took their teammates “under their wings” and hung out together. The kids were truly genuine in their relationships. The kids had a lot of fun together. The chemistry has worked because there was no selfishness. We usually had three or four players in double figures per game. That means we had to have a handful of unselfish players. We shattered the old team assist record. We had a game high 23 assists in one game. The most popular statistic the players asked was assists. That is unselfish.
This team is truly special. I will never forget what they meant to the Shiocton Community. They received many thank praises from community members for a job well done. The community really rallied around this team. I had countless praises that this team was so much fun to watch and had so much class. This team gave success to the community, because in a small community, we share our high school basketball.
