After hour use of the LMC must be arranged via the Facility Request Form.

Grade PK-1 - 1 item with one week lending period
Grade 2 - 2 items with one week lending period
Grades 3-5 - 3 items with one week lending period
Grade 6-12 - 3 items with three week lending period

Students in elementary school visit the LMC on a weekly basis with their class. Books are required to be returned each week but can be renewed if the student is still using the item. There is no specific limit to the number of times an item can be renewed but it is the discretion of LMC personnel to determine if others are waiting for a specific item and if the item will no longer be eligible for renewal.

Items that are checked out can be placed on "hold" so students are "in line" for borrowing an item.

The fiction collection in the LMC is split between Young Adult and Elementary. Students in grades 7-12 may borrow items from the Young Adult collection at any time. Students in grade 6 can select from the Young Adult section with written permission from a parent/guardian (see the 6th grade Language Arts teacher for the permission form). Students under grade 6 are not allowed to borrow items from the Young Adult collection without a specific written note from a parent/guardian that specifies the title which the student is being given permission to borrow.

Fines and Fees

No fines are charged for overdue items.  Students are asked to simply return or renew the item(s) as soon as possible.  Students with overdue items will not be allowed to borrow additional items until item(s) checked out are returned or paid for (if lost or damaged). Middle school and high school students with items that are significantly overdue may lose library study hall privileges. Some exceptions are allowed and are at the discretion of media center personnel.

Items that are lost, stolen, or damaged are the responsibility of the student that borrowed them and must be paid for before additional items can be taken from the LMC. Students are discouraged from loaning library materials to friends as the student that checks out the item is responsible for the item. Occasionally, a "Forgive the Fees Food Drive" will be hosted so students can exchange canned goods for fees.

For a nominal fee, students can purchase earbuds, that might be needed for school projects.
