The School District of Shiocton engaged in a district-wide Facilities Study with Hoffman Planning, Design, and Construction in August 2022. During the next few months, several meetings were held with various populations including students and staff, as well as community members. From the meetings, we were able to gain an understanding about the needs of our academic and co-curricular programs. A comprehensive examination of our buildings and grounds also revealed several areas of need, as well as some additional areas where improvements or enhancements would be of value. Additionally, the study explored options for renewable energy such as solar and geothermal.
Beginning in February 2023, the Building Project Committee, an ad-hoc committee, began studying the Facility Study data, findings, and recommendations. In late February, a Request for Proposal for Construction Management services was sent out to various firms. In March, a Request for Proposal for Architechtural services will be sent out.
Throughout the coming months, the Building Project Committee will further analyze the results of the Facility Study, connect with the community for a more indepth discussion about the needs, and make a recommendation to the full Board of Education regarding projects of priority.
