A Look at Shiocton FBLA:
Abbie Hanks - President
Having joined FBLA her junior year, Abbie has been part of Shiocton FBLA for two years now. Originally, FBLA had not been on her radar. However, after being persuaded to join, she took on the role of Treasurer her first year on the team. She quickly realized that the organization gave her the skills she needed for use in her future career in the advertising field, a mixture of Marketing and Graphic Design. Now a senior at Shiocton, Abbie took on the role of FBLA President, leading the organization to regional success.
Jaciana Keller - VP of Social Events/Competition
Now a Shiocton senior, Jaciana has been part of the Shiocton FBLA team for two years. Jaciana joined the organization at first, because she thought that it would be a fun experience. Since then, she has taken tests, including the regional test in Healthcare Administration, to get a head-start in her future in the nursing field.
Dylan Van Camp - VP of Membership
Dylan has been a member of the Shiocton FBLA team all four years of high school. On the promise of treats, Dylan joined the organization his freshman year, but he quickly noticed that the team offered not only fabulous food items, but also valuable knowledge to be used in life after high school. Dylan has taken an assortment of business classes, such as Business Management, Accounting, Graphic Design, etc. and is hoping that his experience in FBLA leads him to a career in the pharmacy field.
Deven Bedor - VP of Community Service/Fundraising
Deven has been a member of the Shiocton FBLA team since his junior year, joining in hopes of expanding his knowledge of his future career field: Marketing. Heading to regionals this year, Deven is hoping that his experiences in FBLA so far will help him to bring home an award in the Marketing field.
Kellyn VanStraten - Treasurer
Kellyn joined FBLA during her junior year in the fall of 2018. Taking on the Treasurer position her senior year is a good fit, as she hopes to pursue a future in the Accounting field. Kellyn has taken a variety of classes to help make her dream of going into Accounting a reality. Among those classes include Business Management, Accounting 1 & 2, Personal Finance, and Principles of Business.
Trista Rose - Secretary
Trista joined FBLA this year and immediately took on the role of Secretary. A Shiocton junior, Trista doesn't know exactly what she wants to do after high school but hopes that it is in the field of Business. Going to regionals, she will be tested on Business Communications. She says, "there is so much that goes into a single business, and being able to communicate effectively and for a purpose will have greater outcomes for you and your company."
Colton Westby - Reporter
A sophomore at Shiocton, Colton has been part of FBLA both years of high school. While Colton hopes to pursue a career in meteorology, he has a huge interest in Journalism. That is exactly why he took on the Reporter role his freshman year and hopes to continue to expand his knowledge in the field of Journalism for years to come.
