In 2024, Shiocton Cross Country began a rebuilding phase. Our returning high school juniors Kaleb Anderson and Mattea Lane lead the team with consistent performances. Kaleb set a new 5k PR of 20:20.91 taking 23 seconds off his previous record. With the inclusion of 6th graders, we were able to field a full middle school boys’ team for the first time. Jaydon Reese led the team with a team best 12:39.35 2-mile at Rosholt. The boys won at Marion with three runners in the top nine and finished just ½ second out of third at conference. Kyla Baum was our first middle school girl to come out for Cross Country and did a great job cutting over 3 minutes and 10 seconds off her first race time. Every runner bettered themselves over the course of the 2024 season. They learned a lot about controlled pacing and strategy. I am looking forward to seeing all of our runners returning for the 2025 season and continuing to build Shiocton Cross Country.
Go Chiefs!
