The Shiocton softball team is excited to be getting back on the diamond! We have returned to our regular practice start date but unfortunately Mother Nature will most likely delay the first few scheduled games.
While our team loses two captains, four year letter winner, unanimous 1st team All-Conference player Emily Korth and three year letter winner, 2nd team All-Conference player Carly Herb to graduation, we have eleven returning letter winners. We are also excited to welcome back Senior leader Larissa Young. She is expected to have a huge impact on both sides of the ball!
Returning Senior leader Brooklyn Kleiber was our team’s offensive MVP last season. We anticipate another strong showing from her along with contributions from 2nd team All-Conference player Autumn Taylor, HM recipient Sydney Ritchie, Hailie Poppy, Genevieve Suprise, Elizabeth Pelky, Katie Hanks, Josie Erickson and Abigail Daniels.
With only 3 Seniors on a roster of 18 players we are a fairly young team but experienced. Our coaching staff feels there will be some opportunity for contributions from many of the underclassmen.
As always, our goal is to be competitive and vie for a top spot in the conference. Having reached the Regional final last season, we will set our sights no lower than that and look to change the final outcome.
Hope to see you out at the diamond! GO CHIEFS!
Coach Dawn
