STATE TRACK & FIELD 2019
Representing Shiocton High School in the State Track & Field Tournament this past weekend was, Reis Stingle (SR), Kaden Piechocki (JR), and Brehanna Cohen (Soph).
Brehanna Cohen (Soph) respectively placed 15th in the 100m dash with a time of 13.59. This is quite the feat as a Sophomore and her first trip to state. We expect great things from this competitor next season. Congrats Brehanna!
Kaden Piechocki (JR) competed in the high jump for Shiocton. This as well, was his first trip to the state tournament. Kaden broke the long standing school record, set back in 1987 by Joe Wons, with a 6’ 5” effort. He placed 2nd at State. Kaden’s athletic ability, dedication and work ethic will bring him to higher heights in the 2020 season.
Congratulations Kaden!
Reis Stingle (SR) is not new to the state tournament. Last year (2018) was his first trip as a junior competing in the 200m dash and earning 4th place with a time of 22.66 which broke the school record set by Chad Wilkinson back in 1990. This year (2019) Reis qualified in two events. Repeating in the 200m dash and first time in the 110m hurdles. Reis had already beat his own school record, that he set at state last year, in the 200m dash at the Sectional meet this season with an effort of 22.53, yet he still comes through the finish line in the state finals with a time of 22.30, breaking his record again, and earning him the 2nd place medal for the 200m dash. Respectively, Reis finished 8th in the 110m hurdles, helping his team earn points. We are going to miss Reis next year as he will be competing for UW-Stout as a Freshman in college.
Good Luck and Congratulations Reis!
The boy’s team of Piechocki and Stingle collectively earned 17 points in 3 events placing them 10th out of 72 team at the State Tournament.
Congratulations to these three athletes who make Shiocton proud!
